Katherine Sullivan, known as Kathy
to her friends, has been drawing
and painting since she was a child.
Her talents were apparent even as
a youngster. She was often seen with
notepad and pencil in hand, never
missing an opportunity to capture
the expression of the woman at the
grocery store, or the landscape of
her own backyard. She began her formal
training in 1963 at San Jose State
University. Her mother still displays
her first college oil painting at
the family cabin in Santa Cruz, California.
Kathy's career has flourished since her college
days. She has painted consistently over the
past 30 years, always seeking new techniques
and opportunities to broaden herself as an
artist. She has worked endlessly to capture
the beauty of her native territory, the Sonoma
County wine country. She was commissioned
by Korbel Champagne Cellars to create a wine
country landscape for their corporate dining
room. Her work has been displayed in local
businesses in her former hometown of Sebastopol,
California and has led to individual commissions.
Increasing demand for her work has provided
a new avenue for Kathy as she explores the
world of E-commerce.
